The Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice at the University of South Alabama invites applications for a one-year (9-month), non-tenure-track Visiting Professor position in Criminal Justice to begin August 14, 2025. Applicants should possess an earned doctoral degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a related field, but ABDs near completion will be considered. Any selected candidate should have degree in hand before the start date of the position. Candidates should be able to teach courses across the criminal justice curriculum, including in the core areas of corrections, courts, policing, and criminology, and also offer upper-level electives and topical courses.

The Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice is recognized for its research-active faculty, award-winning teaching, and collegiality. The Department offers a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and a Master of Public Administration.
